How to make a Sherry Eggnog
To make a Sherry Eggnog, shake with ice and strain into a highball glass: 2 oz sherry, ¼ oz simple syrup, 1 whole egg, milk and 1 nutmeg.

- Simple syrupor 1 tsp sugar + a splash of water¼ oz
- Egg1 whole
- Milksplash (¼ oz)
- Nutmeg1

Add sherry, simple syrup, egg, milk and nutmeg to a cocktail shaker.

Shake hard without ice for about 10 seconds to whip the egg.

Add ice to the shaker.

Shake again for 10-15 seconds, until the shaker feels very cold.

Strain into a highball glass filled with fresh ice cubes.
Why shake? Milk blends in smoothly only with a hard shake; the egg needs a dry shake first to turn silky.
No simple syrup? Muddle 1 tsp sugar with a splash of water in the shaker until it dissolves, then carry on.
