How to make a Pink Lady

To make a Pink Lady, shake with ice and strain into a cocktail glass: 1½ oz gin, ¼ oz grenadine, ¼ oz light cream and 1 egg white.

You'll need

1 drink

Pairs well with: Grenadine · All syrups

Instructions

  1. 1

Chill a cocktail glass: fill it with ice and water while you mix, then tip it out.

  2. 2

Add gin, grenadine, light cream and egg white to a cocktail shaker.

  3. 3

Shake hard without ice for about 10 seconds to whip the egg.

  4. 4

    Add ice to the shaker.

  5. 5

Shake again for 10-15 seconds, until the shaker feels very cold.

  6. 6

Strain into the chilled cocktail glass.

Why shake? Light cream blends in smoothly only with a hard shake; the egg white needs a dry shake first to turn silky.
