How to make an Old Fashioned
To make an Old Fashioned, build over ice in a rocks glass: 1½ oz bourbon, 2 dashes Angostura bitters and ¼ oz simple syrup. Garnish with orange peel and maraschino cherry.

Add the simple syrup and Angostura bitters to a rocks glass.

Pour in bourbon.

Add one large ice cube.

Stir for 15-20 seconds, until the glass feels cold.

Why build it in the glass? Bourbon, Angostura bitters and simple syrup only need a gentle stir, so there's no shaker to wash.
No simple syrup? Muddle 1 sugar cube with the Angostura bitters and a splash of water in the glass until it dissolves, then carry on.
