Garnish
A garnish is the finishing touch on a cocktail, such as a citrus twist, wheel, cherry, olive or herb sprig, added for aroma, flavor or looks.
In practice
The best garnishes do a job: a twist adds citrus oil, a mint sprig adds smell as you sip, an olive adds a salty bite. Add the garnish last, once the drink is in the glass.
